Festivals & Events

Sister Bay celebrates the fun of the seasons like no other Door County community – we’ve hosted the largest Fall Festival for more than 65 years! The Village has been known as the “Festival Village” for many years, because Sister Bay hosts more festivals and events than any other northern Door County village or town.

Come in early June and check at the Goat Parade – goofy and great fun. Try out this seasons’ kayaks and Stand Up Paddleboards at Paddlefest, and get advice from the pros. Children can show off their wheels in the Childrens’ Parade, and play games. And then there’s our Beach Grand Opening Celebration with music, food and beach activities.

Sister Bay is home to Door County’s only Skatepark!

Festival of Arts artistMid-Summer brings the highest quality of Door County artists to the Waterfront for the Door County Festival of Fine Arts. Each artist demonstrates their technique and many spend the day painting or creating new masterpieces before your eyes. If you’re a boater, or enjoy a day on the water, spend Saturday of Labor Day weekend at Marina Fest. Kids are encouraged to make and race their own boats, the library hosts a HUGE used book sale, and the smell of food and sounds of music fill the air.

Fall Fest ping pong shootFall Festival started as a celebration of the end of the busy season for northern Door County residents and workers, and has grown into the largest festival of the year in Door County. Fall Festival is famous for the Ping Pong Ball shoot, where 10,000 ping pong balls are shot into the crowds, many balls have prizes written on them for you to claim. Shenanigans abound during the festival, and the weather changes from year to year creating a different atmosphere to the festival. Sister Bay celebrates the end of the year with Capture the Spirit on Thanksgiving weekend, with the lighting of the holiday tree, caroling, treats, a craft sale, and sales in many of the stores.

Share the beauty and fun activity of the village; bring your friends and family to Sister Bay to celebrate at one, or all, of these great events.
